Minta & The Trout have a new record: Stretch
The band’s fifth LP, whose release has been stretched over two summers, is their most international yet, featuring guests Shelley Short (US) in ‘Please Make Room for Me Please’ and The Weather Station (CA) in ‘Born To Be Mild’.
Recorded at louva-a-deus, Stretch takes Minta & The Brook Trout further along the steady trail where they’ve been strolling along for almost two decades.
It’s made up of eight songs written by Francisca Cortesão, aka Minta, which, as has been the case since 2009, were fine-tuned with Mariana Ricardo, co-producer and the other half of the band’s core duo, and arranged with The Brook Trout: Afonso Cabral, Margarida Campelo and Tomás Sousa.
Some ot these songs were also recorded as part of the live session series ao vivo no louva-a-deus.

Minta & The Brook Trout is the name of the band whose line-up has varied over the years since their self-titled debut album was released in 2009 and whose sonic identity became fully formed with 2012’s Olympia, followed by Slow (2016) and Demolition Derby (2021), with a few EPs and live recordings in between .
Live, for the Stretch album release show, Minta & The Brook Trout is: Francisca Cortesão (vox, guitars), Mariana Ricardo (bass, vox), Afonso Cabral (guitars, keyboards, vox), Débora King (keyboards, vox) and Tomás Sousa (drums and percussion, vox).
