we’ve started a series, it’s called
ao vivo no louva-a-deus
A series of moving portraits of Lisbon’s music scene, conveying the energy that comes from recording together in a studio.
It’s a kind of concert which the audience sees a little later, a kind of recording session in which, unlike what often happens, everything you hear is played, sung or triggered in the moment.
For the first two episodes, we’ve chosen the brightest in-house talent: Afonso Cabral, who recently released Demorar and Margarida Campelo, comfortably navigating with her band between Supermarket Joy and the live premier of the song she wrote for the 2025 edition of the Festival da Canção.
Not to be outdone, the third episode, of which we’ve only revealed one of the songs, is by Minta & The Brook Trout, who are preparing to release their fifth album on the Mantis label.
As the name, which translates as ‘live at louva-a-deus’ suggests, here you can hear – and see, in motion! – bands and artists playing in the large room of our studio.
and why?
We want to show you artists and bands in different genres working together, with the most vivid and faithful sound – each episode a 3D calling card for its protagonists and for the studio itself.
Louva-a-deus was built for the collective creation of music, at a time when, all over the world, recording studios tend to close down or become increasingly small and individualized.
Spreading the word about how we work at the studio – old school, favouring simultaneity and presence, and using a mix of modern and classic equipment and technologies – is the best way to convey the idea that led us to create this space, and to introduce it to new audiences.
